2 Years a Feminist

It’s hard to believe that my journey as a feminist only started two years ago today. It’s been the most transformative experience I’ve ever had, and I’m so happy that I see the world differently now. Quite surprisingly, this very picture kickstarted the whole thing so I’m forever indebted to Beyoncé for this. But I would also like to thank other women – intellectuals, scholars, writers, activists, singers, musicians and artists – whose works have informed my worldview and taught me so much about intersectional feminism and womanism. Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, Franchesca Ramsey, bell hooks, Alice Walker, Roxane Gay and many others have inspired me to change and grow, to fight oppression and be personally involved in making this world a better place. I’m grateful for their wisdom, courage and excellence.
